    2020 Outstanding PE Students of the year!

    Due to covid, our classes while in the gym will wear a face mask. While classes are outside, there may be activities where the students are able to take the masks off. We will provide mask breaks for students during class time. The locker room will be sanitizer after each class and students will be provided with hand sanitizer before and after class as well as all equipment cleaned after each class.

     For PE grading and expectations see below:

    Cell Phone Policy:  -Cellphones are not allowed in physical education class. They will be turned in at the beginning of class and given back at the end of class. Any student who is found with a cell phone on them will result in a "0" for that days' grade for insubordination. 

     

    Grading procedures:

    * Your physical education grade will be numerical. Daily participation: 60%, Skill assessment: 20% and written /computer assignments: 20%. Students will be given a daily grade out of 5 points every day based on the following rubric:

    5 Points: Student is prepared, (with sneakers and Phys. Ed attire) and on time.

    Contributes a great deal to the class.

    Has commendable effort and conduct.

    Works well with others.

     4 Points: Student is unprepared (with sneakers but no Phys. Ed attire) and on time.

    Contributes a great deal to the class.

    Has commendable effort and conduct.

    Works well with others

     3 Points: Student is unprepared (with sneakers but no Phys. Ed attire)

    Demonstrates inconsistent participation.

    Demonstrates good conduct.

    Demonstrates good listening skills.

    Works well with others.

     2 Points: Student is unprepared (with sneakers but no Phys. Ed attire)

    Shows passive participation.                             

    Does not follow directions

    Works well with others.

    1 Points: Student is unprepared (with sneakers but no Phys. Ed attire)

    Is inattentive.

    Disrespectable

    Does not work well with others

    0 Points Is unprepared. (no sneakers) or chooses not to participate

    Is insubordinate with behavior.

     

    Medicals:

    - A student with a note from their parent or the school nurse qualifies for this section.

    •         Students will report to PE with a note when they have a medical
    •         The note will describe the activity that the student is allowed and not allowed to participate in
    •         Students will be responsible for all material covered in class and all exams given during the medical
    •         In class work will be assigned pertaining to that day’s activity or unit activity.
